Manage Budgets & Forecasts Workshop

Overview

If you have responsibility for preparing and managing a budget process, but are not an accountant, then this practical  two day workshop will provide you with the necessary skills. You will not only learn underlying accounting principles which will demystify accounting, but you will learn best practice budgeting and forecasting tools that make the process simple.

Approach

We use an integrated delivery approach which includes discussions, case studies and in-class activities. 

Over the two days of this workshop you will learn how to link budgets with organisational strategies, analyse the components of a budget, and learn to how to build a budget or forecast that can be readily explained and supported. 

You will be given tools to ensure assumptions are valid and risks are identified and mitigated.  Budget analysis and reporting to management will also be explored providing you with the necessary skills to make recommendations and decisions. 

You will be required to build your own budget and forecast (based on information provided progressively to you over the two days).

Outcome

This workshop is aligned to the unit of competency FNSACCT503B Manage Budgets and Forecasts from the Financial Services Training Package (FNS04).
