Overview
This course will provide you with the skills, techniques and tools to properly plan, manage and execute a project. It also aims to explain project management requirements in a broader organisational context.

People who are responsible for administering, co-ordinating and/or managing projects in local, state or federal government departments or agencies
Entry Requirements
To be eligible to enter this course you will need to:
- be mature age (20 years or over)
- work for a government department or agency or private sector equivalent
- have access to the specific work practices and procedures required to demonstrate competency in the units of study being undertaken

Units of Study
This course is delivered in two sections:
Section 1 Public Sector Project Management (PSPM)
- Design simple projects
- Manage simple projects
- Close simple projects
- Use resources to achieve work unit goals
- Provide input to change processes
- Gather and analyse information
- Identify and treat risks
Section 2 Working in the Public Sector (WIPS)
- Uphold & support the values and principles of public service
- Deliver and monitor service to clients
- Value diversity
- Use advanced workplace communication strategies
- Apply government processes
- Encourage compliance with legislation in the public sector
- Support policy implementation
- Contribute to workplace safety
If you successfully complete Section 1 you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment in Public Sector Project Management
If you successfully complete Section 2 you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment in Working in the Public Sector
When you have successfully completed both Section 1 and 2 you will be awarded a Certificate IV in Government (Project Management)
