Welcome and Introduction
Let me extend a very warm welcome to you as a participant in the Managing in the Public Sector program leading to award of the Diploma of Government (Project Management).
The training program will be delivered by CIT Solutions, through its Public Sector Training Unit.
Projects in the public sector can take many forms (see above).
Upon successful completion of the specialist units of the program, participants will be able to manage complex projects in the public sector. Generally, the projects will be managed by a person with a small team. In particular, you will be able to:
- plan and develop complex projects, including identifying project requirements, preparing a business case, preparing a project plan and establishing project infrastructure
- manage complex projects, including implementing start-up activities, coordinating and monitoring implementation and arranging follow-up
- close complex projects, including evaluation and reporting...
About Your Assessment
To successfully complete this program you will need to demonstrate that you can apply the learning in your workplace context. You will demonstrate this by attending the learning sessions and contributing to individual and group expercises: in addition, you must complete the following assessment activities:
- satisfactorily complete all Milestone Activities outlined on this website. They are designed to assist you to plan, implement and review a work-based project.
- obtain reports from supervisors, clients and peers that show you have the skills and knowledge to consistently apply the learning in different contexts
- attend a formal interview with your Program Presenter to confirm your understanding of key concepts of the learning.
This website is designed to help you identify and complete each of the assessment activities. They are logically laid out on this website. By gathering all assessment materials online as well as in your textbook, we have tried to minimise any administrative overload placed upon you as a result of attending this training program. We suggest that you take a minute to familiarise yourself with the navigation tools.
